I suspect Geofront soft translated the game, and that ED_ZERO.GDF is the file responsible to make ED_ZERO.exe to detect and communicate with the translated stuff(exe.csv, data_en folder etc), but since my OS can’t handle .GDF it just ignores it since it’s unsupported, thus it won’t load the translated files.
